SAT Training for a 1500+

Over 90% of my students get a 1500+.

If you’re aiming for the high 1400s, I can get you there too! It usually just takes a little less training.

The program is fast: it takes around 25 hours or less.

I am a full-time tutor, so I spend my days developing new worksheets, problem sets, challenge questions, and study techniques based on the struggles my students are experiencing.

I am also a small batch tutor, meaning I only take on 20 or fewer students at a time. This means that the level of individualization each student receives is much higher than any “big box” SAT prep companies, and high than even most independent tutors who teach for the SAT part time.

Tutoring is my deepest passion. I research study techniques, memorization habits, ADHD, testing anxiety, and more on a weekly basis. My program is always evolving and getting stronger.

All this means that your child’s chance of success with me is very high. And SAT success gets you one step closer to the college of your dreams.

What is the best way to prepare for the SAT?

Preparing for the SAT involves more than just memorizing facts. It is about implementing strategies that cater to your individual learning style and needs. Below, I have provided some key strategies to help you navigate your SAT prep journey successfully.

Take Full-Length Practice Tests

One of the most effective ways to prepare for the SAT is by taking full-length practice tests. These tests not only familiarize you with the format of the exam but also help you build stamina for the actual test day. When you sit for a full-length practice test, you simulate the testing environment, which can significantly reduce anxiety on test day.

At Snyder-Singh Tutoring, I provide 18 full-length SAT tests - far more than the industry standard of 6. These tests simulate the actual exam experience, helping you boost your test-taking endurance, manage time, and identify areas that need improvement.

Use Official SAT Prep Resources

Utilizing official SAT prep materials ensures that you’re studying relevant content that mirrors the content you will encounter on test day. We recommend starting with resources provided by the College Board, which include practice questions, sample tests, and study guides. These materials are designed specifically for SAT preparation, making them an invaluable resource in your study arsenal.

Develop a Study Plan

Creating a structured study plan is crucial for effective preparation. A well-organized study plan allows you to allocate time efficiently across different subjects and topics. Together, we will develop a personalized study schedule that fits your lifestyle and commitments.

Focus on Weak Areas

Identifying and concentrating on your weak areas can significantly improve your overall score. Many students find that they excel in certain sections while struggling in others. Our tutors will help you pinpoint these areas through diagnostic assessments and targeted practice. Once we identify your weak spots, we’ll create focused lessons that address these challenges head-on. This targeted approach ensures that you’re not just reviewing material but actively working to improve in specific areas.

Avoid Silly Mistakes

The SAT isn’t graded like a school test. There’s no partial credit—it’s either right or wrong. That means avoiding careless mistakes is critical. I’ll teach you strategies to double-check your work, recognize traps, and keep your score as high as possible.

Learn Time Management

Effective time management can make or break your test day experience. The SAT is designed to challenge not only your knowledge but also your ability to manage time under pressure. We’ll equip you with techniques to pace yourself during the exam.

Overcoming Perceived Ceilings for Gifted Students

Gifted students often face unique challenges in standardized testing. They often feel the pressure to perform exceptionally high or may struggle with perfectionism. At Snyder-Singh Tutoring,  I specialize in helping these students break through these barriers with advanced strategies and fresh approaches to learning.

Why Choose Snyder-Singh Tutoring?

When it comes to SAT prep, you have options. But here’s why Snyder-Singh Tutoring is the best choice for students who want real results:

Unmatched Practice Resources

With 18 full-length SAT tests at our disposal, we provide more opportunities for practice than most other companies offer. These tests are a cornerstone of my program, helping you build confidence and refine your skills under real test conditions.

Custom Curriculum Designed for You

No two students are the same, and their prep shouldn’t be either. I design all of my curricula to be specially tailored to each student’s needs, creating 1–4 new worksheets per student to address any challenges that arise as we work together. This personalized approach and flexibility are often missing in larger companies, where programs tend to lack the individualized focus necessary to adapt to each student’s unique progress.

Private Tutoring Advantage Over Group Classes

While group classes have their merits (such as peer interaction), private tutoring allows us greater flexibility when adapting lessons to individual student requirements—ensuring maximum effectiveness from every session spent together!

At Snyder-Singh Tutoring, I regularly help students achieve 300+ point score increases and 1500+ scores, including perfect scores. I help my students gain admission to their dream schools and qualify for scholarships. With my guidance, you can achieve all that and more.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Timing can make or break your SAT preparation. Here’s how to determine the right timeline for you:

Start 6-8 Months Before the Test

If we say 3-6 months, then more people will lean towards 2 months. If we say 6-8, then people will lean towards 5 months. I can get good results in 5 months, but 2-3 is really tough unless the student is already starting at a 1400+.

    Consider Your Schedule

Think about your busiest times of the year. Are you juggling sports seasons, AP classes, or other commitments? If so, avoid starting SAT prep during these hectic periods. Summer is often the best time to dive into SAT prep since you’ll have fewer distractions and more flexibility.

    Retake Considerations

If you plan to take the SAT more than once, starting early gives you time to improve between tests. I’ve found that almost all students in my ten years of experience (and from interviewing other professional tutors) perform better on their second attempt when they have a solid prep plan in place.

  • The amount of time you’ll need to study depends on your goals and current proficiency.

    Varies by Individual Needs

Every student is different. If you’re starting with a score above 1400, you might only need a couple months of targeted practice. I have tons of students who start their SAT journey closer to a 1000 or 1100. Those students usually need 6-8 months.

    Spread Over Several Months

Effective SAT prep isn’t about cramming. It’s about consistent, focused practice over time. Spacing out study sessions helps reinforce learning and allows time for reflection and adjustment based on progress.

    Target Specific Goals

Whether you’re aiming for a competitive score for college admissions or sports recruitment, or targeting a specific scholarship, your prep plan will be designed with your unique goals in mind.

Setting specific goals throughout your study plan will keep you motivated and focused on achieving measurable progress.

  • Investing in SAT prep can be one of the smartest decisions you make—but not all courses are created equal. Here’s why personalized tutoring is a game-changer:

    Structured Guidance

SAT prep courses offer structured guidance that can be invaluable in navigating the complexities of test preparation. They provide a roadmap that helps students stay organized and focused throughout their studies.

    Personalized Instruction

At Snyder-Singh Tutoring, I pride myself on providing personalized instruction tailored specifically to each student’s needs. Unlike larger tutoring companies that often utilize the one-size-fits-all approach, I take the time to understand what works best for you individually. My personalized approach includes customized lesson plans coupled with regular performance assessments and instruction adjustments.

    Access to Resources

I provide my students with access to extensive resources that significantly enhance learning outcomes. These include:

Comprehensive Practice Tests: We offer 18 full-length practice tests—far more than most competitors—giving students ample opportunity for realistic practice.

Targeted Worksheets: I create custom worksheets designed specifically around each student’s struggles as they arise during our sessions.

Supplemental Materials: In addition to official resources, we provide additional exercises tailored to reinforce key concepts.

    Cost Consideration

While group classes may seem less expensive, private tutoring offers more value. Investing in quality SAT prep facilitates faster progress and better scores, culminating in increased scholarship opportunities at colleges—potentially saving thousands in tuition fees down the line. One thing we often hear from families is that they’ve already spent money on group classes, only to find that they didn’t work for their child. Group classes tend to be too broad and aren’t tailored to individual needs, making them especially ineffective for students starting in the 1400ish range. As a result, families often end up needing to spend more money later on personalized tutoring that actually works.
